This manual page documents briefly the overkill and related commands. This manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because the original program does not have a manual page. overkill is bloody 2D action deathmatch-like game in ASCII-ART running under Linux, OS/2 and Windows. overkill is the client for the game. overkill-server is the server for the game. overkill-test-server is a tool to query the status of a server. overkill-editor is a level editor. overkill-bot is a pretty stupid bot for overkill. xoverkill client works in an X11 terminal window. Throw away Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem - 0verkill comes. Now you don’t even need graphic mode if you wanna take a bloody deathmatch with your friends. The ASCII art that has always fascinated you started to move finally. No one has ever thought that ASCII is an animable kind of art. Finally you can taste the original appearance of elaborate action in full 16 colors of your plain old text terminal. You never though that ASCII letters are capable of network-game action in such a massive manner. No one ever connected gushing blood with that innocent ASCII letters that were so utterly boring until short recently, when 0verkill was released.
-s widthxheight Explicitly set picture size in characters. -p port Run server on specified port. -d display Choose X11 display. -f font Choose X11 font.
A server must be running which can be started with overkill-server. To join the overkill game use overkill or xoverkill. Select server address and port, your color and name. To learn which keys to use for playing press the H key (it toggles help - even in the game). Press ENTER and enjoy!
